Adventures in welding

My beloved Hubby has found his calling, it is welding.  For some reason he really enjoys this.  He is in construction and real estate and with the downturn of the market times are hard.  So he ended up welding some air conditioning cages for a friend.  We have issues with copper thieves here. 

In addition to HVAC cages he enjoys creating items for the yard. We have Alabama Wildlife Center which hosts and event called "Wild About Chocolate".  So much chocolate, so little time.  Part of the event is charity auction, this year the hubby himself will be auctioned off to offer one day of "handyperson" services to the lucky winner.  Last year we donated an arbor:



So now Robin Construction offers iron work and I know more about welding than I ever thought I would. Yep I'm pretty much pushing up web presence with this blog post but you know, those coppper thieves are every where.  I think the next welding project I will ask for is bench for the yard, I keep asking for items and then he goes and sells them.  Such was the fate of my bottle tree.

Happy Year of the Dragon

The year of the Dragon has begun and hopefully it will be a good year for all.  I had fun designing some YotD artwork to put on CafePress and Zazzle.  Regretfully my favorite one I can't use because my hero, who is a dragon is copyrighted, ah ethics.

Yes you just have to hand it to our old friend GODZILLA.  Bestest one of them all.  So celebrate his year and have a Godzillathon weekend. I have to admit as a child I always rooted for the monster, I do miss the cheesy old sci-fi TV, guess I'll go catch some Dr. Who episodes.

Pinterest is my latest addiction.  You just can't help looking often to see what new cool ideas have been posted.  So I became a member and started some boards and surprisingly I have a few followers that are not friends or family, the internet is a wonderful place.  So as I posted some of my items would get reposted.  One site I found Life on the balcony, is full of wonderful ideas for small spaces. One of which was a pallet garden.

So I put a picture on Pinterest and it has been repinned so many times.  The web site has instructions and a materials list so hop on over if you want to add this nifty cool idea to your patio or other small space, or really any vertical space.

Valentine's Day Fun

Valentine's day is coming up so I get the incredible urge to make things with hearts.  I had some bisque heart plates so got to painting and had fun with them.  Since I can't actually draw I have to rely on simple designs or ones I can get a stencil for.  So as I sat there looking at these blank templates I went with what I love.

The bird silhouette, koi, and sun are all stencil's that I used.  The owls were a design I saw and could modify for this.  They are my favorite.  The green was free hand so kinda wobbly.  But they were fun to paint and of course while working I had my cat supervisor making sure I did everything right, because if you are owned by a cat you must be supervised at all times.

My 1st blog post

Well I have decided to start posting on the web.  I make items for sell on etsy, cafepress, and zazzle and just wanted one spot to store stuff.  Plus I just really like to make things and wanted to share.  So here I am wandering the wonderful world of bloggin.  So lets see how this works out.  Whee.
